Missions and Teaching Trips – Spring, 2025

Dear Friends and Colleagues in Christ,

Let me first acknowledge that it is high honor to serve God teaching Scripture and evangelizing Thus, allow me now to report on my two recent trips to the Ukraine and to Serbia.

From February 7-21, I travelled to Zhitomir, in central Ukraine, and from there to Kharkiv, in the East. In Zhitomir, I taught “Philippians”; in Kharkov (and the village of Zolochiv, some 10 miles from Russia), I preached in 4 churches and evangelized in several locations – missile-rocket attacks were constant! The Lord blessed this trip with 20+ Ukrainians trusting in Christ as Savior.

From March 14-22, I travelled to Serbia where I also taught “Philippians” and preached on 4 occasions in 3 churches, including 2 gypsy churches. I met with college students struggling with issues of faith in midst of Serbia challenges and future uncertainties and presented the Gospel.

More Mission trips are scheduled. In August, I will travel to Armenia, where I will be leading a Christian leadership conference and teaching a Bible seminar. In October, I will travel to Liberia to teach Christian leadership, discipleship, and conduct evangelism. Plans are also under discussion to travel to Uganda to lead a regional evangelism crusade.

Let me share a few requests with you:

1. International travel is difficult, particularly the older one gets! Please pray for my physical strength, endurance, and safety.

2. These two trips are interesting given the nature and regional outreach! While my travel costs are approximately $2,300/trip, I have also been asked to contribute support monies (food, water, etc., for attendees) in the range of $1,500 for each trip.

3. As the Lord leads, any contributions would be appreciated, yet please note I joyously will serve the Lord and complete these trips. For tax purposes, you may earmark your contributions as follows: “Dr. Erickson Missions’ Trips”; Upper Cross Roads Baptist Church, 2717 Greene Road, Baldwin, MD, 21013.

I am ‘moved’ by Paul’s challenge…a challenge that speaks directly to me:

Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication…that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the Gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak. (Eph 6:18-20).

May God richly bless you and your families this next year, 2025 and may each of us love the Lord our God; honor Him in all we do; and preach the Gospel of Christ and strengthen believers!
